Level I Fieldwork: Pediatric & School System Focus

EKU level I students are placed in surrounding school systems or other pediatric settings to complete their pediatric/school-based focus fieldwork. Students may be placed in schools with educators that are occupational therapists, special education teachers, teachers in traditional classrooms, or other professionals of a variety of disciplines. Our pediatric placements outside of the school system our faculty led. We are grateful for our partnerships with our surrounding partners and the excellent learning opportunities they provide for our students. Below are some resources for our school system educators.

Below is a link to a checklist of both required and optional activities for a level I student to complete at a school-based fieldwork setting. Our institution holds an affiliation agreement with all fieldwork sites which allows our students to have access to student information as necessary. Our students also have training in FERPA and HIPAA laws. Therefore, it is appropriate for our students to view IEPs and attend ARC meetings in a learning capacity. Please let the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator or assigned professor know if you have any questions about the checklist of activities.
